Student Servers

Students got experience in restaurant service skills at the March 15th, Saturday night, St. Patrick's fundraiser dinner at the Desert Sage. Becca takes a meal order from Charlie Warren, our beloved Middle School teacher and new Superinentendent of the Moffat District! Maxie serves his mom, Noona, at the fundraiser, and afterwards students worked to prep napkins and silverware, table tops, and mopping and waxing---all valuable team building and work skills. LINK teacher, Thomas Cleary, worked late with the crew as they completed their chores at the Sage.

Guests share meal and smiles

Everyone was Irish for a night at the CCS community fundraiser hosted by LINK students. The menu was a big hit with Irish Beef Stew, Celtic Chicken, and Wild Druid Mushroom Veggie Pie as the main courses. A pear/berry fool with or without ice cream was served for dessert. CCS parent and "Sage" waitress extraordinaire, Donna Gohr, helped the event run smoothly.

LINK students hosted a fundraiser community dinner at the Desert Sage this weekend. The theme was St. Patrick's day and the group did a great job prepping, serving, cleaning and team building. Bottom=LINK teacher, Karen Acker, working the kitchen as head chef and checking in with Ling Dorji, Sage owner, about details. Intermediate Archery

Intermediate students practiced archery skills on the grounds of CCS campus this week. They are studying archery with guest mentor and archer, Wayne Halstrom. Many excellent learning skills translate across the curriculum through their archery study. Even calligrahphy and penmanship can be approached as a focused extension of the archer's Chi.

Visiting student returns home

Iliary, sister of a Charter School student, visited CCS while in Crestone on a journey from her home in Guadalajara. She worked with Kelly (left) in Spanish immersion helping students practice their language skills. She returns to Mexico this week but leaves many happy memories and new friends behind here in Crestone!
