Crazy Orchestra
Counseling Consultant and community organizer, Cindy Cleary, led the whole-school gathering in a fun game of crazy orchestra harmonies. Students and parents worked together in small, multi-aged groups to create a sound and a motion and then followed Cindy's direction to create a whole-group festival of silly sounds.
Opening Day Ceremony 2010-2011
New Superintendent, Kirk Banghart, joined staff, students and community to ring in the new school year. Middle School Instructor, Thomas Cleary, led a group initiative that involved each class sharing their "hands puzzle piece" and each student naming their contribution to the greater whole. The pieces of the puzzle were assembled and will be mounted in front of the elementary campus as a artful reminder of an important theme at CCS this year---Many Hands, One Community.
Welcome Back To School
The first day of school for the 2010-2011 school year brought students, teachers, staff and community together for opening day ceremonies. LINK high school students led a musical parade to gather everyone onto the tennis courts. New high school math and science instructor, Mark Mikow, even provided a touch of brass to the marching band efforts with trumpet accompaniment!

Students return August 30th and plans are already underway for our School Wide Camping trip, Opening Day Ceremony and Back to School BBQ and Potluck (Sept 16th 5pm). On their first day back the teachers met new Supt. Kirk Banghart, participated in a data-driven dialogue with District Assessment Coordinator, Linda Eickhoff, reviewed ENDS policies and looked at student learning goals.
