Leon Joseph Little Bird

Tom Dessain and the folks at Crestone Performances brought Leon Joseph Little Bird to perform for elementary students on Friday, April 30th. Leon Joseph Little Bird is a Native American artist who shares the origin stories and songs of indigenous instruments of Colorado. The performance was a lively compliment to Native American social studies being conducted by our younger students. Thanks to Tom Dessain and CPI for this wonderful live performance. Early Elementary class will travel to Mesa Verde next week to visit the Anasazi Historical center and the ruins of the Southwest.

Middle School supports Primary research papers

6th and 7th grade Middle School students worked alongside 2nd and 3rd grade Primary students this week on their research papers this week. Primary is combining their study of animals with writing goals on a formal research project. The learning works both ways as older students step into leadership and mentor roles, while challenging their own writing and editing skills.
