CCS teacher, Anrahyah Arstad, paused for a smile with Architecht Marc Diament, after the New Facility Committee meeting. Intermediate students have launched a massive recycling effort on campus. Here they organize items for recycle in the school recycle area. Primary students created art boxes with visiting artist.

Intermediate Taiko Performance



Parents and enjoyed excellent weather and a wonderful Taiko exhibition at Shumei last weekend. Students thanked their classroom teacher Anrahyah Arstad and assistant Martha Shoup.

Intermediate students have studied Taiko drumming at Shumei institute this semester and performed last weekend at the beautiful outdoor venue at Shumei.

River Watch, Clean Up and Paper Mache finger




And interesting smattering of activity this week with Thomas Cleary hosting guest scientist from the ongoing River Watch project our students. At day's end students complete chores around campus to help clean up. An Intermediate student shares a side project from her paper mache lesson!

Japanese Caligraphy



Primary students received instruction in Japanese caligraphy from guests from Shumei. Students wrote their names on parchment with traditional brushes and ink.

Feast Day Clean Up


Everyone pitched in to clean up after the celebration. Students and teachers used the three/four bucket rinse and wash system that we use on outdoor camping trips to wash our plates while others stacked chairs and cleared tables. A great celebration.

The strange and wonderful "whipped cream" ritual continued this year with students pausing for a squirt in the mouth on their way out the door!

LINK hosts Feast



LINK students served the food prepared by the whole school. Tables were decorated with holiday fun and a little origama for each plate setting.

LINK students hosted the school for a thanksgiving feast with each class contributing a dish and teachers preparing the turkeys.
