Staff gathered for a holiday celebration at The Harvest. Secret Santa was generous. Karen shares a student gift---a "No Helping Verbs" t-shirt created by one of her students to further mythologize her already famous advice to young writing students.

Intermediate Potlatch Ceremony

Intermediate students offered a rich ceremony demonstrating learning of geography, social studies, cultural arts, visual arts, stories of individual shamanic journeys and a table full of good eats as a culminating project for their first semester studies in Native American history and language and visual art disciplines. But then...this is just what this blogger caught prior to a 4:15 DAC meeting...maybe others who attended the entire Potlatch can post additional comments about this exceptional student-directed work and share more details? Way to go, Intermediate!

Early Elementary Weavings and Lunch

I stopped by the Early Elementary class during lunch and got to see the wonderful belts students have been weaving---and fun lunch faces!

LINK Band

The LINK high school Band mentorship wrapped up this semester's music studies with a performance at Caddyshack Open Mic Night. Thanks to Mentor, Jim Price, and Wade and Carrie at Caddyshack, for a great showcase.

Sophia and St. Nicholas

Sophia returned from Japan with beautiful gifts and stories for her classmates. St. Nicholas arrived in early elementary class and traded hugs for beautiful poems and gifts and Magic with the students.

Intermediate Masks in progress

The paper mache chicken wire masks that Intermediate students are creating for their Potlatch celebration have taken on new life with the addition of newsprint and paint. Students created animal forms they favored as a personal totem.

Physical Education in Intermediate Class

Teaching Assistant Martha Shoup takes INT students through a mid-morning work out. Our students make such good use of their limited space, but it will be wonderful for them to have a proper kinesthetic space in our new facility.
