A preview of Turkey

LINK students got a slide show presesntation from local Body Worker David Hillman of his year-long travels in the country of Turkey during the early 1970's. David was a professional snoop for the US Government reporting on Russian air traffic in the area. He shared amazing stories and photos of his time traveling through the ancient cities of Ankara and Amasya, and the beaches, caves and mountain passes of rural regions. "What kind of weather can we expect this time of year?" one of the students asked. "Could be beautiful warm spring, or you could run into some rain--Turkey is a maritime climate!" Students leave this Sunday for a ten day tour of Greece and Turkey.

Intermediate Uke Orchestra Performs at CLCS Conference in Denver

Students painted their own colorful shirts for their Uke Tour in Denver this month. The group's first performance was at the Colorado League of Charter Schools Conference in the Downtown Denver Sheraton---a lunch group of 500! The kids did a great job, overcame some stage fright, and performed like champs. Afterwards they vamped it up for a group pic. Hooray for Intermediate Class!
