It was an awesome trip. We went to New Orleans first and did some service work to help the people down there. We talked to Merv who was with the Corp of Engineers and he explained to us that the levees broke and caused the water to take over the town of New Orleans. He showed us the areas like the Lower Ninth Ward. That area was full of damage and was heart breaking seeing the remains of peoples homes. There was not that many deaths in the area that we saw but even if there were a few it was still terrible.
After New Orleans we went to Slidell and helped the kids in an elementary school in Slidell, LA. The kids were so grateful to see all of us there to help them out. We put up some book shelves for the kids and they were so grateful. The school was in trailers and a small building because the flood had caused damage to their regular school building.
Next we went to Florida and stayed at a campground for the night. Most of that day we rode in the vans and took naps and talked amongst each other.
The next day we woke up in the morning and had an early breakfast then we “Hit the Beach!!!!” That day then we left and headed to Myrtle Beach. When we arrived at Myrtle Beach we found the Meher Spiritual Center and stayed there for the night. I met a beautiful girl and became friends with her. Her name is Lizzie. Anyway we learned a lot about Meher Baba and the history of the center and some other cool things about the center and Meher Baba.
Next we left the spiritual center and went to the NATION’S CAPITAL duhn duhn duhn. Washington D.C. was pretty cool and that’s where the fun began. We visited a lot of the memorials and we saw the Vietnam Memorial it wasn’t that fun it was sad. But then we went to two very good restaurants one was an Indian restaurant and the other was a Mexican the food at both places were soo good just seeing it made my mouth water. We rode on the Metro train systems and they were fun. I felt like a business man (lol).
That ended our trip and now were in the vans returning home so yeah it was an awesome trip. The best part about the trip was helping out the kids that we saw and the people that we didn’t see but knew we were helping. Yep so that wraps it up thank you for your time.
