Mountain Top Removal Mining by Brandon

Today we camped near Charleston West Virginia, it was fun. We learned about coal mining today and how coal miners blow up mountains with nitro glycerin and mine them with about 14 men. The mine can easily operate with 14 men because of technological advances made in the last 50 years. 50 years ago it would’ve taken 600 men. Strip mining is terrible because they are taking away what it takes millions of years to develop in years with little help to our society. Strip mining also leaches dangerous chemicals into the environment causes terrible irreparable damage to our environment. I now think that mining in this way is terrible.
