Technical difficulties mostly fixed!

We have been in DC now for a few days and the trip is going great. Unfortunately the posts have been a few days behind and I just got up a bunch from Louisiana….. by the time get the system figured out we will be on our way home! Hopefully we will get DC posts up tomorrow but it takes gathering photos from digital cameras and getting kids to write there comments. We will do our best.
So far in DC we have visited portions of the Smithsonian Museum, the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the White House, Arlington Cemetery, the Viet Nam and WWII Memorials, the national ZOO, and several excellent restaurants!

Several student’s posts (below) mention the service projects we did for the Brock elementary students: this involved delivering about half of the 3000 (!) Books4Brock that the CCS middle school students collected (the other half will be shipped), and installing them in the classrooms as mini libraries. The CCS LINK students made and painted the bookshelf parts in Crestone then put them together in LA. The kids helped load up the books as well as doing activities with the Brock Students.

Thanks for your patience and keep comming back, it works if you work it.

  • Thanks for your hard work in getting this back up Thomas! I feel like a blog junkie, checking in here many times a day, waiting for my latest fix. This morning has satisfied the craving deeply(although it will probably re-ignite by morning break.)

  • thomas and karen, Thanks for all the good stuff you're sending. As usual, lives are changing, more than the kids can tell now. Y'all come back, now....sound and healthy.
Oh yes, we were one of six schools in Colorado that won the School of Excellence Award from the Art Alliance for Education. Thomas, they thought our overall presentation was great..... thanks for the disc work. Not bad for a little school in the boonies....Love you both.....Reynold
