Longest day
What a long day!

Up at 5 to get the first metro car...
And on to the Spirit of America...

To sail to Mt Vernon...

See the General's House...

Play some colonial Games...

See spring in Virginia...

And back to enjoy a fabulous meal at America!

Ahoy Mates!

That's all for tonight... Tomorrow is back to the National Mall to finish the Smithsonian...er... take another bite anyway... The class is becoming very accomplished travellers on land, sea, air, and metro... All still together... many still even have some spending money left for tomorrow...
Only a couple more days to go! Miss you mom and dad!

Another day in a magnificent trip! This is education that won't be soon forgotten because real learning is for a lifetime. Unlike mere tiredness, as evidenced by the one of you who is sprawled out on the Metro car.
As you say, it isn't just the mechanisms and the buildings of government these students are learning about. It's also how to travel in the air, on water, and on firmament. And maybe under it, depending where the Metro goes.
The Smithsonian, of course, is a subject all its own. When I was there, I looked up and saw a number of historic aircraft. One was the Voyager. Another was the Spirit of St. Louis. And these were the real ones! Not duplicates.

Hope no one minds. I edited two of the darker subway pictures so you can see the faces. For instance, I didn't notice that Jigmei was sandwiched in between Damien and Jullian.
