A Little Blog From Amulya

Hi Everyone!
The kids are all in bed, so sorry they have not blogged yet on our very busy trip. We are having fun in DC! Yesterday was a travel day, planes, trains and mini vans. Today we rode the metro from Largo, MD to DC and did museum tours....my litttle group did the Natural History Museum where we saw the Hope Diamond and many other natural wonders; the Sculpture Garden and the National Gallery of Art where we saw special Cezanne exhibits and a DaDa exhibit....way cool! Of all the fabulous things we have seen and done so far, I think Katie and Soleil like riding the escalators the best. Good thing we get to get the kids out of Crestone for a bit and expose them to "the real world", with elevators, escalators, moving sidewalks, Metro Trains and airplanes! I am grateful for my experience growing up around Chicago and traveling a lot to the Bay area for the experience it gave me in being able to negotiate public transportation and masses of people in museums; and now I am glad to share that with our rural kids (and adults!).
Tomorrow....Monuments!

Hey Amulya! Thanks for the late-night update. I resonate with the kids' escalator ecstasy. One really can't beat travel for the ultimate experiential learning container. Thanks for being there and bringing loving, lively guidance to the group. Peace out!
